Founders Peter Fogarty and Greg Harvey lead a highly skilled, experienced and agile team that is passionate about agricultural excellence and the opportunity for the industry to positively affect environmental change.

Peter Fogarty

Founder & Chairman

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in corporate and operational management, financial structuring and negotiation of M&A transactions, consulting to companies in the property, technology, agriculture and wine industries.

Over the past 25 years Peter has built the Fogarty Wine Group, a vertically integrated viticulture and wine production business which has emerged as Western Australia’s largest wine company. Fogarty Wine Group now owns and operates a portfolio of wine assets and vineyards across Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania and produces many of Australia’s best award-winning wines.

Peter was previously the CEO and Managing Director of a public listed company for 18 years. In this role he was responsible for a global group employing over 1,000 people across a dozen countries, with revenues over $300 million per annum. He was also formerly a partner in corporate and taxation law with a leading Australian legal firm.

Peter provides invaluable strategic direction and operational and deal insight to the PenAgri team and possesses a wealth of first-hand knowledge of agricultural production systems in Western Australia.

Greg Harvey

Founder & Managing Director

As the Managing Director, Greg leads the PenAgri business day to day, utilising his first-hand knowledge, global networks and CEO experience to identify, develop and manage profitable agribusiness investments.

Throughout a 30-year career in agri-business, Greg has held senior and high-profile leadership roles in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. 

This includes 13 years in Singapore as the Managing Director of the Interflour Group; one of Asia’s largest grain processers he managed 1650 employees across 6 countries with annual revenues exceeding $400m.  During this time, Greg was also the Global Chair of the Food Fortification Initiative, a not-for-profit organisation focused on alleviating micro-nutrient deficiencies through wheat, corn and rice flour fortification.

On his return to Western Australia, Greg was the inaugural CEO of the Harvest Road Group (owned by Tattarang) and subsequently branched out to establish and manage his own portfolio of agribusiness investments including the PenAgri Group, co-founded with Peter Fogarty in 2021.

Greg is a Director of Alterra Ltd, Agora Livestock Pty Ltd, Pendulum Capital Pty Ltd, and Seastock Pty Ltd.  He is also the Chair of D’Orsogna Ltd, Australia’s largest family-owned smallgoods manufacturer, and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mark Fogarty

Director & Company Secretary

Mark has over 20 years of corporate experience at Pendulum Capital Pty Limited, a Western Australian based corporate advisory business, having previously worked as a founding senior analyst and corporate adviser since 2004.

Mark has worked on a range of capital markets and corporate finance activities, including due diligence and business reviews, initial public offerings, capital raisings and mergers and acquisitions for clients in industries extending from technology, mining services through to agriculture.

He has also been pivotal to the growth and is Executive Director of Fogarty Wine Group, which has shrewdly consolidated its position in the Australian wine industry, acquiring a myriad vineyards, wine labels and distribution networks across the country.

Mark is a Director and Company Secretary of The Wine Collective (a leading digital wine marketplace based in Sydney), Company Secretary of PenAgri and Company Secretary at RLR Holdings Pty Ltd (the developer of The Lodge Wadjemup on Rottnest Island).

Daniel Hester

General Manager

Daniel has significant experience in both development and operational management of large-scale farm aggregations.

Previously General Manager at Wellard Agri Ltd for over 9 years where he helped Wellard acquire and develop over 47,000 ha of farm land, including 23,000 ha of crop and a peak of 90,000 head of livestock, Dan was responsible for managing all aspects of Wellard’s large mixed farming operation comprising $125 million of gross assets and with annual revenue of $25 million.

He also has previous experience working for Grain Pool Pty Ltd (part of the CBH Group), Macquarie Cotton (part of Macquarie Bank), Graincorp Sydney and IAMA Limited across agronomy, grain logistics, grain and cotton trading and commodity strategies.

Grant Sanderson

Investment Manager

Grant has a passion for agriculture forged in the soils of the family wheat & sheep farm in the heart of the Central Wheatbelt of Western Australia.

He brings over 10 years of transactions and advisory experience specialising in mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, company valuations and due diligence at some of Australia’s most well-known financial advisory companies including EY and Euroz Hartleys. These skills are deployed towards PenAgri’s strategic asset selection, acquisitions and disposals.

Grant’s experience in the agricultural industry, in addition to the last three years working with PenAgri, includes as an analyst at ASX-listed Alterra Ltd – a West Australian based horticulture development company – and in stakeholder management at Agricultural start-up company Agristart.
